Bafatá, 12 September 1924 – Conakri, 20 January1973. He was an agronomist, writer, anticolonial theorist and leader of the African liberation fight in general and of Guinea and Cape Verde in particular. He was a founding member and leader of the FRAIN, CONCP and PAIGC. He was assassined in Conakri.
