Lisbon, 28 March 1899. According to the first issue of the Boletim do Centro Colonial de Lisboa, the Centro Colonial (Colonial Centre), a class association, was launched on the 28 of March of 1899 by a group of farmers, landowners, businessman and industrialists from West Africa to defend the interests of the Portuguese colonies.
